ZigBee/IEEE802.15.4 Module TOCOS Wireless Engine is a wireless microcomputer module compliant with ZigBee/IEEE802.15.4, a global standard.

The product is designed to meet the instantaneous start-up, super-low power consumption, and long signal range required for ZigBee/IEEE802.15.4 modules at a high level.

By using ZigBee/IEEE802.15.4 Module TOCOS Wireless Engine as a part, you can add a wireless function to your device in a short time.

As the ZigBee/IEEE802.15.4 Module TOCOS Wireless Engine has various built-in I/O such as 32-bit RISC processor, analog I/O, digital I/O, comparator, pulse counter in the small package, it allows for direct control of sensors, display, LED, switches and so on. The substantial capacity of RAM and flash memory also allows for stress-free installation of applications using ZigBee PRO or other communications protocols. All-in package can minimize the peripheral circuits and help reduce the total cost and development time for your product.

As this product has already obtained the certification according to the Radio Act of Japan, the ARIB STD-T66 Factory Design Certificate (Technical Regulations Conformity Certification), which is required for the use in Japan, you can start using the product without spending time and money on obtaining the certification. This is a RoHS-compliant and environmentally friendly product.

Another feature of ZigBee/IEEE802.15.4 Module TOCOS Wireless Engine is that there are a wide range of antennas available that are certified according to the Radio Act of Japan and can be connected to the product.

TWE-EK-AN-001 is a package for evaluating thin-type board antennas which is useful when incorporating antennas in a case. There are 3 different types available and each has different size and gain. The bigger, the better gain you get. Attach them inside an ABS resin case before use.

We are also offering a variety of antennas that can be connected to ZigBee/IEEE802.15.4 Module TOCOS Wireless Engine and have obtained Technical Regulations Conformity Certification; from a waterproof type that can be used outdoors to directional one to the one that can be attached on a metal, all of which are certified according to the Radio Act of Japan.

About Regulation of the Radio Act of Japan
(Technical Regulations Conformity Certification)

To use ZigBee/IEEE802.15.4 Module (wireless device) in Japan, a certification (Technical Regulations Conformity Certification) according to the Radio Act of Japan is required.

Tokyo Cosmos Electric provides TOCOS Wireless Engine as a module already certified with Technical Regulations Conformity Certification. We inspect 100% products for the radio wave performance at the time of shipping and guarantee as a manufacturer that all the products are compliant with the law.

Among the wireless modules made overseas or those requiring soldering for, e.g. surface mount, there are some cases where Technical Regulations Conformity Certification (certificate of technical standard or factory design certificate) for Japan has not been obtained (or cannot be obtained as a wireless module). There are also wireless modules with high output to such a degree that is not permitted in Japan. Please note that using those wireless modules in Japan can be considered illegal even if it is just for an evaluation purpose unless it is used in a shield room or the like. In addition, some wireless modules may get out of the range of certification if the firmware is rewritten. All of our products are compliant with Technical Regulations Conformity Certification, so please rest assured that you can use them without violating any compliance.
